Ultimately, Penn E&R’s construction division implemented remedial activities including the PCB and petroleum impacted soil excavation, in coordination with both NJDEP and USEPA. As part of the remediation and redevelopment, the site is being capped with layers of fill material and clean fill and the building footprint will also be included as part of the cap. Also, a CEA for ground water impacted by historic fill was established.
Upon completion of the soil excavation remediation, the property was sold, and Penn E&R continues to be involved as the LSRP during the redevelopment construction activities. Once the capping portion of the construction activities is complete, an RAO can be issued for the Site. Both buyer’s and seller’s teams of consultants, legal, and corporate were pleased with the outcome of the project and ultimately the reuse and redevelopment of the Site.
