Penn E&R employees helped families across Pennsylvania by contributing to two charity drives this holiday season.
This marked the second consecutive year employees at Penn E&R’s Hatfield office donated dozens of gifts to a Giving Tree program organized by Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield. The church’s decades-old tradition is organized by its Outreach Group. Its members write gift ideas on paper angels and hang them in the church community room. Parishioners and community members are invited to choose paper angels, purchase and wrap the gifts noted on them and return the gifts to the church to be distributed to the families. All donors’ and recipients’ names are kept confidential. This year, over half of all Penn E&R Hatfield employees chose to participate.

Also in December, Penn E&R’s Pittsburgh office donated new or gently-used coats, boots, hats and gloves to the Marcellus Shale Coalition’s inaugural ‘Coalition of Caring,’ a winter clothing drive to benefit non-profit organizations serving those in need. Penn E&R employees filled a large box with warm winter clothing, contributing 15 coats, five pairs of boots and 20 vests, hats, scarves and pairs of gloves to the drive to directly help the Light of Life Rescue Mission. Other organizations that benefitted from the drive included Family Promise of Lycoming County and Trehab Community Action Agency.
Penn E&R is proud of its employees’ efforts this holiday season and plans to participate in both drives again next year.
