
Penn E&R was retained by a confidential manufacturing client to complete a detailed feasibility study for viable alternatives to remediate and support the future development of a former manufacturing site located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Penn E&R was awarded this contract based on its history and effectiveness at completing similar comprehensive analyses.
KEY PROJECT TASKS:
- Identified five viable options for the client to evaluate
- Developed a weighted decision matrix to assess each alternative’s benefits and limitations to identify key tradeoffs using the following criteria:
- Long-term effectiveness and permanence
- Reduction of toxicity, mobility or volume throughout treatment
- Short-term effectiveness
- Implementability
- Cost
- Decision matrix was developed in strict accordance with guidance documents set forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency
