For decades, Penn E&R has generated plans and permits for the installation of numerous natural gas wells and pipelines to meet regulatory requirements set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
KEY PROJECT TASKS:
- Preparation of hundreds of Erosion and Sediment Control General Permit applications, known as ESCGP-1, ESCGP-2 and ESCGP-3, for linear and non-linear projects
- Generation of E&S control and site restoration plans
- Preparation of standardized General Permits (GPs) to address the following situations: GP-04 Intake and Outfall Structures, GP-05 Utility Line Stream Crossings, GP-07 Minor Road Crossings, GP-08 Temporary Road Crossings, GP-11 Maintenance, Testing, Repair, Rehabilitation or Replacement of Water Obstructions and Encroachments, and Joint Permit Applications through USACE and PADEP
- Meetings with PADEP and SRBC to confirm requirements for the applications, plus continued contact to facilitate approval process
- Identification and procurement of water resources necessary to support well drilling and stimulation activities
- Generation of Preparedness, Prevention and Contingency plans and Control and Disposal Plans for operations associated with the Marcellus Shale wells
- Generation of Water Management Plans for well locations outside of the Susquehanna River Basin
- Generation of Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure plans to manage petroleum storage at production sites and tank batteries
